Requirements

What to Build

Over 48 hours, your team will work on prototype that tackles a real-world problem with tech-driven solution.

Your solution could be in a form:

  • Web app
  • Mobile app
  • Chatbot
  • Or... something totally unexpected.

We’re looking for originality, creativity, and bold innovation!

What to Submit

All teams must submit the following:

  • A one-sentence elevator pitch that captures the essence of your project.

  • A 300-word project summary outlining:

    • The problem you set out to solve

    • Your proposed solution

    • How you built it (tools, technologies, approach)

    • Any challenges you faced along the way

  • A link to your GitHub repository β€” make sure it's public so the judges can review your code!

  • A 3-minute video pitch + demo β€” explain your idea and show it in action! Upload it to YouTube and include the link.

  • Optional: Add any screenshots, diagrams, or extra demos that can help bring your project to life for the judges.

The judging panel will select a group of standout submissions. These teams will have their video pitches showcased to the judges during the MACATHON 2026 Closing Ceremony.

Judging Criteria

  • Creativity

  • Realisation and Implementation
Did you manage to transform your concept into a real-life prototype within the time limit? Does it do what it’s meant to do reliably and smoothly?
  • Technical Depth
Clean code, logical structure, and well-thought-out design choices will stand out. We’re not just checking if it worksβ€”we’re looking at how it works.
  • Quality of Pitch
Can you tell the story of your project in a way that excites, explains, and inspires? It’s not just about what you builtβ€”it’s about why it matters.
