Eligibility

Our hackathon is open to students from any Australian university or TAFE.

2 - 4 team members

Project and Submission Requirements

All teams must submit the following:

  •     A one-sentence elevator pitch
  •     A 300-word project summary: addressed problem, proposed solution, how you built it (tools, technologies, approach), challenges faced
  •     A link to your GitHub repository 
  •     A 3-minute video pitch + demo. Upload it to YouTube and include the link.

Optional: Add any screenshots, diagrams, or extra demos that can help bring your project to life for the judges.

The judging panel will select a group of standout submissions. These teams will have their video pitches showcased to the judges during the MACATHON 2026 Closing Ceremony.

Creativity & Innovation
We’re looking for fresh, original ideas that push boundaries! Does your project stand out? Is it realistic, innovative, and strongly connected to the given theme?

Realisation & Implementation
Bring your concept to life! Is your solution functional, well-executed, and user-friendly? We want to see your idea working in action.

Technical Depth
Show us what you’ve got under the hood! Have you explored complex or interesting technical concepts? Are you using modern frameworks, tools, or technologies effectively?

Quality of Pitch
Convince us your idea is the next big thing! Is your pitch clear, engaging, and persuasive? Can you communicate your solution in a way that captures attention and excitement?
